Andhra Pradesh Ardhagiri Veeranjaneya Swamy
It is located on hilly area, only 15 kilometres distance from famous Kanipakam. As per the Hindu epic of Ramayana, when the Lord Rama’s brother Lakshman was unconscious by Meghnath, the son of demon king Ravana during the war. At that time it was suggested if someone pick the Sanjeevini Booti for Lakshman then he would be cured. Hence, Lord Rama sent Hanuman to bring Sanjeevini Booti. However, when Hanuman reached there, he could not recognize the sanjeevini booty thus he decided to bring Entire Mountain. When Lord Hanuman was returning to his place at that time some part of that mountain fell down and the location wherein it landed later called Aragonda. However, Aragonda was initially known as Arakonda but by the passing of time it started to call as Arakond or later Aragonda. So the village of Aragonda got its name from this epic incident of Ramayana.
