Andhra Pradesh Ahobilam Nine Famous Narasimha Swamy Temples
The important point about the temple is that there are total two temple houses, upper Ahobilam and lower Ahobilam. As per the Indian Hindu mythology, it is the place where incarnation of lord Vishnu, Shri Narasimha killed Hiranyakashipu, the demon and blessed Prahlada, the devotee of Lord Vishnu.
History
This sacred temple consists of total nine holy structures to Bhagwana Nrisimha situated only five kilometres circle. Moreover, there is one holy temple for Prahaladavarada Varadhan at the mountains of local hills. However, due to high security reason as well as the great difficulty to perform daily religious activities, most of the religious activities or Utsava Vigrahao these total nine religious places are kept at this sacred temple.
According to Hindu mythology, Garuda wished to see lord Nrisimha in a sacred incarnation. Hence, to complete his religious wish, God settled down in the mountains nearby Ahobilam in dense woods in total nine forms. That is why this sacred area also called as Garudachalam, Garudadri, and Garudasailam. The renowned Ahobilam is a sacred place wherein the Bhagvan saved Prahalada from demon Hiranyakashyapa. The Goddess Mahalakshmi took incarnation of Senjulakshmi just among the local Senju, local tribal hunters of mountains and finally married the Bhagwana.
The renowned Ahobila Muth which is also considered as very important religious institute of Vaishnava group of Hindu religion. Renowned Athivan Satakopan who followed the provided instructions of Lakshmi Nrisimha at Ahobilam set it up. However, Malolan also accompanies sacred Srimada Azhagiya Singara, the known spiritual as well as ritual head of Ahobila Muthama during his travels. Moreover, the renowned Thirumagai Azhwaar also sung total ten verses regarding this sacred temple at Periya Thirumozhi.
How to Reach
By Air
If you have planned to visit the sacred temple then the nearest airport is located in Hyderabad, only 300 kilometres distance from Ahobilam temple.
By Rail
Railways networks do still not connect the renowned Ahobilam temple. However, the nearest railway heads are including Nandyal railway station and Cuddapah railway station. Hence, pilgrims can use these routes to reach there.
By Road
The famous Ahobilam temple is well connected by roads. Hence, if you want to reach there by road then it is very easy and accessible. Pilgrims can hire buses from Kumool, Nandyal and even from Hyderabad.
Weather and Time to Visit
The weather of Ahobilam usually remains high around 32 degree Celsius and low 28 degree Celsius. Hence, visitors or pilgrims can visit throughout the year if concern only weather condition. However, if pilgrims want to explore religious activity then they need to visit at the time of religious activities. Remember, religious activities in the temple keep going throughout the year.
