In the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad is basically known as the Uttar Pradesh Board of Education for intermediate and high school. The schools of Uttar Pradesh were affiliated with this Board of Education and also this board prepared whole syllabus for class I to XII students. This board also managed the school leaving examinations for students of class VII that is middle school exams, class X that is high school exam, and class XII that is intermediate school exam. It also prescribes the syllabus for these examinations, whose scores are necessary to gain admission in higher study institutes. Along with the government schools like boys inter college and girls inter college, this Board of Education also gives affiliation to various private schools. English or Hindi language is the basic medium prescribed by this board.
The main headquarter of this board is located at Allahabad and this board governed about total of 9121 number of schools. The exams and results for about 3.2 million of students were managed by this board. This scored about biggest exam body in the whole world.
Historical Background
Under the Act of Legislative Council of United Provinces, this board was established in year 1921. In the year 1923, first examination was conducted by this board. The system of 10+2 is adopted first by this board only in starting. After the high school and 10+2 examination stage, there is another examination of intermediate just after the first public examination. Just before the year 19323, these two examinations were conducted only by the Allahabad University.
There were varieties of streams like Technical Education, Arts, Agriculture, Fine arts, Science, and commerce just at previous in high school. But as because of the demand, the class X curriculum is set for a common core and in year 2000, the curriculum for the high school was revised by this board of education. According to the new curriculum, the new compulsory subjects were about 6 and they were Social Science, Hindi, Mathematics, other language, Science, one subject for social and physical education etc. There were only internal examinations held and no outer public examination. The optional subject is only one.
Objectives
To regulate the high school and intermediate examination, this Allahabad University was taken over by this Board of Education in the state of Uttar Pradesh:
- Courses that are prescribed.
- Along with the internal area, examinations are conducted in the remote rural areas also.
- With the rise in expectations, the staff got oriented based upon the profession and change in attitude.
- The evaluation become reliable and the accuracy should be maintained.
- The High School and Intermediate classes at the state level were got recognized.
- The curriculum should be in vast research and conduction of evaluation.
- The text books of the high school and intermediate were published by this board and also compulsory preparations were held.

The main headquarter of this Uttar Pradesh Board of Education is at Allahabad with the executive head and secretary. Under overall control of regional secretaries, there were about 4 offices of the board at the regional level:

The Central Board of Secondary Education and also Indian Council of School Education maintained few schools but large number of schools were recognized by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Education.
