Folk music has its importance in the state of Haryana. For the classical ragas, villages of the Haryana also famous. Most of the popular ragas were originated from the tehsil Dadri. Some common ragas were Asaveri, Sarangpur, Bilawala, Nandyam, Jaishri, Hindola, Gopi Kalyana, Malkoshna, Todi, Brindabana, and Bhairavi etc. Jai Jai Vanti and Malavi were from Jind District.

In this category all the classical form of group songs were included. These types of songs include the mythological theme. This group includes Teej songs, Holi songs, Phag songs, Allah, Barahmas, and Jaimalphalla.
Ballads, ceremonial songs, Purana-Bhagata, and legendary tales were included in this group. This music influenced with the cultural traits. Some ragas like Jhinjhoti, Bhairav, Bhairavi, Jai Jai Vanti, Pahari, and Kafi were used in this form of songs. With the use of twelve semi tones scale, Ahirs used to sung the song including the Pilu Raga. Bhats, Jogis, and Saangis were used to make the folk music popular in state of Haryana. To accompany with the songs, Sarangi is used by the Jogis. Their voice is very appealing and they often used the heroic names of Jaimal Phatta and Allah with great melodious voice.
