Dausa district is one of the districts in the state of Rajasthan. According to area Dausa is the smallest district in the state of Rajasthan. The total area covered by the district is up to 2,950km. The district headquarters is located in the city of Dausa.

In the year 1991 on April 10th the Dausa district was constituted by separating 4 Tehsils. The district is located in the eastern part of Rajasthan. It is surrounded by Jaipur district in the west, Alwar district in the north, Modhpur district in the south, Bharatpur district I the northeast and Karauli district in the southwest.

In the hands of Chouhans and Badgurjars this region was ruled in 10 century AD. This region was ruled by Chauhana Raja Soodh Dev ruled during 996 to 1006 AD. Later on it was ruled by Raja Dule Rai ruled for 30 years from 1006 AD to 1036 AD.

To this nation Dausa has contributed the most prominent freedom fighters namely, Late Shri Tikaram Paliwal and Late Shri Ram Karan Joshi who fought for the Independence on India and also fought for the princely states of Rajasthan to amalgamate.
