Change in the Name of Passenger Holding Confirmed Reservation
There are some basic procedure needs to follow to change the passenger name in the confirmed reserved ticket. Here given the procedure to change the name of passenger and make use of it.
Ways to change the name of Passenger Holding Confirmed Reservation
First of all, once a berth is reserved in a passenger’s name in should be used only by that particular person and it cannot be changed or transferable in future
The Railway Administration only provides the authorization to Chief Reservation Supervisor of important stations to change the name of passenger or the seat of the ticket holder only in certain conditions:
- If the passenger is a Government Servant and travelling for an official purpose, if he/she makes a request in writing 24 hours prior the scheduled departure of train.
- If the ticket holder raises a request in writing 24 hours earlier than the scheduled departure of the train, then the ticket may be transferred to his family member, it may be his Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife.
- If the passenger is a student from an authorized educational institution, then the Head of the institution should raise the request in writing 48 hours prior scheduled departure of the train that the reservation should be transferred to any other student in same educational institute.
- If the passengers are members of a marriage party then the head of the party should write a letter to authorize personal before 48 hours, then the reservation can be transferred to any other person in marriage party.
- If the passengers are from troop of cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) then the head of the group should make a request in writing a requisition letter before 24 hours of the departure of the train to change another cadet name.
These sorts of request should be raised only from writing a requisition letter addressed to corresponding authorized officer and it will be permitted only one time strictly. The conditions (3), (4), (5) cannot be proceeded and accepted if the change is more than 10% of the group.
