The state Government of Orissa and Government of India under a joint venture formed Orissa State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC). The facilities of OSRTC are provided to all the residents of the state. The corporation operates more than 300 buses.

OSRTC has made sure that it offers economical services to the local population. Concessional rates are offered to freedom fighters, and handicapped. Students get the benefit of concessional travel through student passes. The services are provided under deluxe, express, and ordinary fare.

The fare if deluxe buses are set to 39 paisa for every km. For deluxe buses, the fare is set to 31 paisa and ordinary bus fare is 29 paisa per km. Another major operational advantage that OSRTC has is that it has its own workshops and service stations that ensure that the repair services are provided almost instantly. It also owns a Bus Building workshop for construction of new buses.  OSRTC major bus stops are located at Rourkela, Jeypore, Berhampur,
