APSRTC:

APSRTC that stands for “Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation” is a road transport service owned by state government in Andhra Pradesh. APSRTC is accredited as the only corporation to have major task force in the world. Guinness Book of World Records has certified Road transport facility of Andhra Pradesh for its largest operation of buses across the world.

APSRTC started its operation in 1932 as State Railways and Road Transport Unit of Nizam. In the beginning, Nizam’s transportation service started operation with 27 buses and expanded it to 20,972 until January 2009.  This network of buses played a crucial ro0le in connecting city, village and major towns of the state. In Andhra Pradesh, each town is availed with the facility of Bus Depot that administers plan and looks after the operation. Major center of operation is cities like Vijayawada, Warangal, Tirupathi, Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Anantapur. It also provides bus transport service to neighboring states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Pondicherry, Orissa, Goa and Tamil Nadu.  More than 14 million travelers avails the facility of road transport ever day.
