Introduction
Indian Union Muslim League also known as IUML is commonly identified as League. It is political party of the state of Kerala in India. The main hold base of party falls within central and northern Kerala. Note down that as name 'Indian-Union-Muslim-League' is listed at Electoral Commission through party’s splinter-group, IUML held elections as Muslim League of Kerala State-Committee.
The League is quite powerful pro Muslim-community-oriented party that was initiated like Muslim League preceding Independence, however decided remaining their loyalty to the Indian Union subsequent to Independence while unique Muslim League of the party went to the Pakistan. The Kerala unit of IUML is only unit of Muslim League that declared its commitment along with loyalty for India therefore turned into state party of politics in India of post-independent. IUML has monopolies generally in the districts like Malappuram, Kasargod and Kozhikode. They make the 2nd biggest party in UDF.
A particular group of Muslims of Kerala is regarded sometimes as followers of Indian-Union Muslim-League. The superlative leader of faction, “Panakkad Hyderali Sayed Shihab Thangal, is president of state unit of Kerala of Indian-Union Muslim-League. This illegal support is reason of repeating election successes of Indian-Union-Muslim-League applicants from dense districts of Muslim.
History
IUML is the remainder organization of all-India Muslim-League created Islamic state that named “Pakistan” from the rule of British in India in year 1947. IUML participated in upheaval of first Indian Communist Party (CPI) government in the state of Kerala in year 1959. In 1960, party participated in formation of alliance government in Kerala, consisting of “Indian National Congress”, IUML and , Praja Socialist party. The government confirmed short existed. In elections of Kerala in year 1967, party had gone through united front headed by “Communist Party of India” (Marxist) or (CPI (M)). The members of front were Revolutionary-Socialist Party or (RSP), CPI, Karshaka-Thozhilali Party which is also known as Peasants & Workers Party, Samyukta-Socialist Party and Kerala-Socialist Party (KSP).
Muslim League party had 2 ministers in state government of the front. In year 1969, party left CPI (M) headed government plus participated in making of new government, headed by Indian Communist Party leader Achutha Menon like Chief Minister, mutually with RSP, CPI, KSP as well as Kerala Congress.
After the elections of 1970, Achyutha Menon was elected as Chief Minister second time for the state of Kerala. Members of governing alliance were “Indian National Congress”, RSP, IUML, and PSP. The government of Menon lasted till downfall of regime of Indira Gandhi in year 1977. In chaos which followed IUML leader Mr. CH Mohammed Koya has held Chief Minister’s post in year 1979.
Organization
The youth wing of party is known as “Muslim Youth League’ and the wing of student are recognized as “Muslim-Students Federation”. Party has political wing of women too which is called “Muslim Women League”. In the state of Kerala, party has different organization of trade union, Swatantra-Thozhilali Union or S.T.U., peasants union, Independent-Workers Union Swathanthra-Karshaka Sangam or Independent-Peasants Union along with Lawyers Forum of Advocates as well as KMCC of expatriates of IUML supporters.
In the state Kerala, party has five ministers in current UDF government. Mr. Mohideen Khader is national general-secretary of party. Excepting Kerala, party has also some power in Tamil Nadu. In the state of Tamil Nadu, party is member of “Democratic Progressive Alliance”. In the elections of Lok Sabha in year 2004, IUML won 2 seats of Parliament which are K M Mohideen Kader from Tamil Nadu and E. Ahamed from Kerala. In the Election in year 2009, Mr. E Ahamed of Malappuram along with Mr ET Basheer Muhammad of Ponnani won seats as well as Mr. E Ahamed nominated as Minister of State for External affairs.
After bereavement of Panakkad Mohammedali Sayeed Shihab Thangal in year 2009 on 1st of August, his brother Mr. Panakkad Hyderali Sayed Shihab Thangal was selected as President of state committee of party in Kerala. In fact driven force or master mind after political power of Muslim league of Kerala state is party’s general secretary Mr. Pandi Kunjalikutty Kadavath. The UP President of State Committee of IUML is Mr. Kausar-Hayat Khan.

Sayyid Shihab Hyderali Thangal
Sayyid Shihab Hyderali Thangal is State president of Kerala of Indian-Union Muslim-League (IUML) and present highest leader of E K Sunni of state of Kerala.
He is 3rd son of Pookkoya PMSA Thangal. Shihab Hyderali Thangal is brother of Lt. Sayyid Shihab Mohammedali Thangal along with Lt. Sayed Shihab Umerali Thangal.
He has been working for IUML party like President of malappuram District for 18 past years. Hyderali Shihab has different views and attitude towards the party Discipline. Some of the decisions that he has used as “Point Blank” has concerned group attention further are appreciated extensively amongst the public. He has excellent relationship amongst party’s lower level workers along with the desire of strengthening the party might be inspiration behind.
Sayyid Shihab Hyderali Thangal has been nominated as Qadi in several Islamic Mahals of Kerala because of the bereavement of the elder brother named Sayed Shihab Umerali Thangal. He has been voted as successor of Shihab Mohammedali Thangal as IUML’s President.
