Introduction
The Kerala Congress is a known political party of the state of Kerala, India. It was founded and established by Mr. K M George in the month of Oct, 1964 after legislators groups resolute to break from INC (Indian National Congress). Kerala Congress has its origins in “Indian National Congress” and is conventionally dominated by farmers of the state, generally Syrian Christian-minority as well as with a significant presence of the Nairs though leaders from the entire communities are re-presented.
The constituencies of Lok sabha that have provided support to party through years comprise Muvattupuzha, Mavelikkara, Idukki and Kottayam.

Factions and Splits during 1973-2010
The Kerala Congress has suffered harsh divisions along with quite a few parallel groups have appeared, all are claiming name 'Kerala Congress'. Groups included parent under Mr. P J Joseph of Kerala Congress (Mani) under Mr. K M Mani of Kerala Congress or Balakrishna Pillai under Balakrishna Pillai, along with Kerala Congress (Jacob) under T M Jacob. Faction which had retained official credit by Indian Election Commission to name is grouping headed by P J Joseph that is casually known as Joseph group.
Union of Joseph and Mani factions
In a significant development in Kerala politics, P J Joseph proclaimed on 30th of April, 2010 purpose of the group id to leave “Left Democratic Front” (LDF), of that his faction had been constituent for 2 decades and combine with groups headed by K M Mani. He had joint shortly after that and welcoming the exit of Joseph faction from LDF. It would bring back together the 2 factions that had division in year 1979 to make a solitary Kerala Congress, forming it the biggest constituent of “United Democratic Front” or UDF after INC along with the Indian-Union Muslim-League.

Karingozhakkal Mani Mani
Karingozhakkal-Mani Mani or K M Mani is veteran politician of India and leader of the Kerala Congress(M) which is among the factions of Kerala Congress. He clasps records to have presented maximum figure of 10 budgets in Legislative Assembly of Kerala as the Finance Minister as well as longest-serving associate of the Kerala Assembly. P. J. Joseph
Mr. P J Joseph is Indian politician and leader of Kerala Congress-party in Kerala plus an MLA as well, who representing constituency of Thodupuzha assembly. Since year 1990, his party of politics had been segment of “Left Democratic Front” (LDF) as a coalition. He also has held several ministerial posts with Government of the Kerala on quite a few occasions.
