It is a daily newspaper written in the language of Telugu. It is published in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was started as a daily newspaper in the year of 1981 along with Vijayawada as the centre. Presently, it is being published with nine centres at Karimnagar, Srikakulam, Rajahmundry, Kurnool, Tirupati, Khammam, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Hyderabad. It has a large network of more than 100 primary news-gathering centers spread across the state. This paper has grown up in profusely and is now regarded as the greatest propagated progressive daily among newspapers of Telugu. On its 20th anniversary of this paper, it became online and approached much closer to all those who are just confined within its reach in this vast world.
In fact, Prajasakti was a born offspring of the freedom struggle. It had its inception in the year of 1942 and was later published as a daily from the year of 1945. As soon as it was subjected to suppression by the British, it was later banned in the year of 1948. It emerged again as a weekly journal in the year of 1969 and took the form of a daily in the year of 1981 along with Vijayawada as its edition center. It had fully grown during the last decade and won the hearts of the hard working masses, the middle class and workers. Prajasakti went ahead in an atmosphere when all the leading and democratic forces were opposing a climbing task of struggling the onslaughts by the activity of imperialism. Its second edition launched in the year of 1997 from city of Hyderabad, the third consecutive edition in the year of 1997 at city of Visakhapatnam and the fourth consecutive edition in the year of 2001 at Tirupati, the fifth consecutive edition at Khammam in the year of July 2003 and the sixth consecutive edition at Kurnool in the year of November 2003, the seventh consecutive edition at Rajahmundry in the year of May 2005, eighth consecutive edition at Karimnagar in the year of September 2005, and the ninth consecutive edition at Srikakulam in the year of 2006.
Prajasakti is completely devoted to the cause of the deprived people. At its inception, it was considered as the struggle of peasants in the year of 1981. Prajasakti has always organized the propaganda for progressive and secular values in the society. It struggles for democratic values, and maintains the passionate struggle for democracy and a just thriving waged against the globalization of one-sided imperialist. It emerges out with a scientific analysis on all modern, international and national issues. This paper stands for the show of all the just values and inexorably fights communalism, corruption, policies of anti-peoples and several issues which make the life of the downtrodden and the middle class worse.
This daily is a major part of the Prajasakti Sahithee Samastha with its headquarters located at city of Hyderabad. This has a sturdy team working democratically with hundreds of professionals and journalists hailing from the team of advertisement circulation department, the editorial board headed by S. Vinay Kumar as editor technical department and V. Krishnaiah as general manager. This daily is published at the printing press of Prajasakti. It caters the requirement of the print.
