Baroda Museum & Picture Gallery Vadodara
This Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery is located in the SayajiBagh, which is a shady park having lots of Asian carvings and statues, Egyptian room, and also exhibits zoology mangy. This gallery also containing mixed group of European masters also has Mughal miniatures that are very lovely.
The basic structure of the building of the museum is in traditionalism having wooden framework in Maratha traditional architecture that were filled with the brick walls. The ground floor of the museum is made and decorated with the copy of a wall painting of the Parthenon in a European style. There is a gateway steps on the south side of the porch that is having architecture of the Mughal forms. The gallery of the building is made in a European style and very small having pavilions and Indian columns on roof. A bridge is connecting and covering the two buildings of the museum. The building has total area of 40, 000 sq. ft. There is a extension of the building of the museum that is going in progress phase.
History
Over the lines of Science Museum of London named Victoria; Albert, in year 1894 this popular museum was built. This building of the museum was genuinely manufactured on the basis of architecture of Indo-Saracenic that is basically refined by the R.F. Chisholm who was a Mant. This museum was founded by the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in year 1887. The construction of this museum was finished in 1894 and after that this museum was opened for the common people. In year 1908, construction of the art gallery was started and finished in year 1914, but the opening of the gallery got delayed up to year 1921 as some of the material of Europe was not able to reach this museum because of the first World War.
Collections
A huge collection of ethnology, ethnography, and art and sculpture were preserved here in this museum. This gallery contained variety of the masterpiece of the paintings. The tourist got attracted towards this picture gallery from all over the country as this contained huge collection of masterpiece of the paintings by the popular painter of the British named Turner and Constable. The biggest attraction of this museum that attracts the visitors are blue whale skeleton and a Egyptian mummy. Various other treasure that make this museum famous are Tibetan art gallery, oil collection from European masters, Mughal miniatures collection, and 5th century AD Akota bronzes etc.

From the Graeco-Roman traders association in Gujarat India, there is a jar circa of bronze from the 2nd AD century from the past history. There were Ragamala manuscripts that are painted and portraits of the family from the school of Rajasthan.

Timings and Ticket Prices
For visitor, entrance ticket is Rs. 5. Under 12 years children were exempted.
Except for public holidays that are 5, this museum is open full year (10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.).
