Baro Shona Mosque
Baro shona mosque has the common name which means big golden mosque and is located a few hundred meters Northeast of Dakhil Darwaza.
History
This Baro shona mosque is said to have constructed as jama masjid, under sultan shah in 1526.
Architecture
The inside of mosque has 11 spans in width and 4 in depth. It has been collapsed and only east corridor with arches and the east gate which is facing the lake remained.
Significance
The mosque has rich history as it is built as jama masjid in 1526. It has its own significance and Muslims come here to offer prayers. People also visit this as a mark of history while visiting the district which is in west Bengal.
How to Reach There
Maldah district is well connected with roads and trains to different parts of the country. There is a station here names malda town and trains that are bound to north Bengal and to places of north eastern states pass from here. The national highways 34 and 81 pass through the city here. There are many roads that connect this district to major cities in west Bengal.
