Kala Amb is an attractive monument of the state of Haryana which allures a number of tourists it is located in the city of panipat, it is 90 KM far from Delhi, this is actually the monument for those soldiers who participated and lost their life in the third battle of panipat. It is a saga that the soil of this place is mixed up with the blood of soldiers consequently the fruit of the close by mango tree become black. Thus the monument has been given the name as kaka Amb that means black mango. Now there is a brick pillar on the spot with an iron rod that is enclosed by an iron railing. In true sense this is the memorial for those soldiers who took part and gave their life in the 3rd battle of panipat.

History

The kala Amb is a very famous tourist place of panipat located 8KM far from the city .this tree mark is the place where Maratha troops were placed by sadashiv rao bhau during the third battle of panipat. This memorial is devoted to those Maratha soldiers who had given their life in this battle. The name of this place has been given its name on this black mango (kala amb)tree.

Architecture

There is a pillar in this monument which is made of bricks and iron rod and it is enclosed by an iron railing. This memorial is taken care by a government society of Haryana. This monument attracts the tourists very much .this is the site where humanity despair over the pitiless battle which was fought in the past.

How to Reach

This monument is situated 8KM far from the city. Cabs and local taxis are available for local transportation. HSRTC operated and private buses are also available in the city for local transportation.

Ibrahim Lodi's Tomb

The tomb of Ibrahim Lodi is situated in panipat nearby the taluk office. The last ruler of Lodi dynasty was defeated by Babur in the first battle of panipat in 1526. After the end of Lodi's the Mughal's came on the horizon of India.

The grave is on the high platform in a rectangular block. The lode's tomb was renovated by the British and there is also inscription marked on it about Lodi’s defeat.

Weather and Best Time to Visit

Three seasons as summer, winter, and monsoon are experienced by the region of panipat through out the year. The place has tropical climate winters are extremely cold and summers are very hot .the best time to visit panipat is winter because of the pleasant weather.

Summers are very hot and dry no one can visit the site because of the excessive heat. Maximum temperature reaches up to 450Cand the minimum lower down to 350C during this time. March, April and may are the summer months.
Due to the influence of south west monsoon the region of panipat experiences moderate rainfall. Normally the rainfall is mild during July and august and retreat through the month of September during this time the temperature fall by a considerable level.

In the city of panipat winters are very cold and dry. During winter the maximum temperature is aprox 17 degree and minimum is around 4 degree. From October to January are the winter months and this is the most appropriate time to visit panipat.
