Architecture
This fort was constructed by Kalsia kings at about 250 years ago. The architecture of this fort is not too good to describe but the presence of the fort in this area is important as in the area, no threats of any enemy is experienced since long. But Kalsia king made it with a vision to defend the state if needed in future. In the middle of the fort, a Mahal of double story has been constructed. The fort is constructed under traditional Indian pattern of designing the antique buildings. The entrance of the fort was named after Raja Ravi Sher Singh as description available in one of the book named The Rajas of Punjab. The Mahal is constructed in rectangular style. A Rani Mahal is also constructed on the left side of the palace. The architectural style of this building is British-Indo pattern of construction. The Rani Mahal was the retiring place of royal family. In the left portion of the fort, a high clock tower is existing which was constructed by Raja Ranjit Singh Kalsia. During that time, the chimes of this clock tower were heard at Jagadhari as no noise pollution was existing like today. This clock was made by heavy stone blocks and after some time it stopped working. Raja Ranjit Singh got it repaired in the memory of his son Kunwar Karan Singh. Presently this clock tower is neglected as no ruling party showing will power to preserve the historical things. The construction of the fort was done with Lakhori bricks. In the central part of the fort, a royal palace is built with a large entrance gate. This was done before 140 year ago during the reign of Raja Ravi Sher Singh. Unfortunately this fort could not be properly preserved.
