Sikkim Namchi Monastery
The location of this monastery can be more explained to be at a height of 1,675 (550 feet) above the sea level and is placed at about 90 kms from the Sikkim’s capital Gangtok and around 90 kms from Siliguri, which also happens to be the Airport and Rail Station located nearby. Also, annual festivals of the monks and other celebrations mark the Namchi Monastery’s special features.

Description
The area of Namchi is developing rapidly to be a famous tourist center, and more people are literate here say to the tune of 75%. Languages spoken here are Nepali, English.
Great schools and colleges adore this place and this also happens to be an educational hub. The biggest Buddhist Padmasambhava also called Guru Rinpochi; the main Guru of Sikkim is placed on the Samdruptse hill which is believed to fulfill one’s wishes which is also believed to be a Dormant Volcano. Buddhist monks visit the top of the hill and offer prayers, and thus keep the volcano cool. The rock garden situated nearby depicts different flora and is a wonderful picnic place and one can have a nice glimpse of Kangchendzonga the third highest peak in the world. Guru Rinpochi Statue which is the tallest statue of the saint in the world is around 36 meters high.
Also Siddhesvara Dhaam is a pilgrimage center, promoted by the Sikkim Government, and has a 108 ft statue of Lord Shiva and duplication of Dhaams in four numbers at the hill top area of Namchi. Four respected Hindu Dhams viz Jagannath, Dwarika, Rameshwaram, Badrinath are placed as replicated statues here, which is attracted by many tourists. The dedication of the Shri Jagadguru Sankaryacharya Swami Swarupananda Saraswati Dham was done by the Chief Minister of Sikkim. Also there are Jyotirlingas replicated in this place.
An aerial view can be had of the Darjeeling Kalimgpong as also the rolling plains of Bengal which also gives the pleasure of having a great overview of temi tea garden which happens to be the only tea estate in Sikkim and said to be producing top quality tea catering to the global market.
The flower garden during the month of February is more famous here during which period large number of flowers blossom in various colors. Rare breeds and varieties can be seen here during this period. Also the foot ball stadium called Baichung Stadium is famous and history adds that Pende Ongmoo, who was princess, poisoned the Chogyals of Sikkim who was caught and killed and her spirit is said to be daunting in and around areas.

How to Reach
By reaching Sikkim, within the city one can conveniently reach the Monastery through Cab or bus or other local travel modes. However, to reach Sikkim it is necessary that travel through Rail or Air is necessary.
