Brief Description
Bread bhaji masala is a mix that rocked Mumbai with its taste and texture. 'Bread' means homemade bread. 'Bhaji' means mashed vegetables mix. It was found in the local streets of Mumbai. Now, the Bread Bhaji recipe has become a craze and a must on the menus of every hotel, restaurant and Indian weddings.
Time for preparation Fifteen minutes Time for cooking Twenty minutes Serves for Four Ingredients for Bread Bhaji Or Bread Pakoda:-
- 20 Bread Slices Or One Bread Packet
- One Tablespoon Of Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- One Tablespoon Of Red Chilli Powder
- One Tablespoon Of Garam Masala
- One Tablespoon Of Zeera Powder
- Two To Three Finely Chopped Green Chillies
- Four To Five Finely Chopped Garlic Flakes Or Chilli Garlic Paste
- One Tablespoon Of Mustard Seeds (Raai)
- Salt For Flavor
- One Tablespoon Of Dhaniya Powder
- Optional Grounded Peanuts
- Two Finely Chopped Medium Onions
- Two Finely Chopped Medium Tomatoes
- One Cup Of Freshly Chopped Coriander
- Four To Five Tablespoon Of Cooking Oil
How To Make Bread Bhaji Or Bread Pakoda
- Cut the bread slices into small half-inch squares and Keep them sideways.
- Put oil in a pan and heat it.
- Add the mustard seeds (raai) into the heated oil.
- Add chopped onions into the oil after the mustards crackle. Mix and stir the onions well.
- When the color of onions changes to silver, add salt and chilles along with the garlic paste. Mix it well and add the chopped tomatoes after a minute and again mix and stir the mixture.
- After two minutes of cooking, add all the masalas (garam, dhaniya, red chilli powder, turmeric, zeera, grounded peanut (optional)) into the mixture and mix well.
- One will get a nice aroma of the mixture. Add a little amount of water to the mixture if the mixture is dried up.
- Now add the small bread pieces in this mixture and mix it really well, making sure that the onion tomato mixture is coated over the bread pieces.
- Turn off the stove and decorate with fresh chopped coriander.

Some Useful Tips
One can use capsicums, potatoes and tomatoes in bread bhaji or any other crushed and mashed vegetable food.
