Popularly known as the Orange City, Nagpur is the major political and commercial center of Vidharba region located in the state of Maharashtra (India). Nagpur also hosts some political headquarters of the major organizations like the Hindu Nationalist Organization RSS which is an important destination for the “Dalit Buddhist Movement”.

Nagpur is the exact geographical center of India. It is even marked as Zero Mile indication showing the precise measurement of exact center. The name Nagpur was coined from the Nag River, which flows in a serpentine path through the city (Nag being the Marathi Name for Snake.) Nagpur was taken over by British East India Company  in the 19th and thereafter it was made the capital city.

Nagpur boasts of an area of 218 sq kms and a total population of 4,653,171 people. Nagpur has the oldest College of Agriculture founded by British Government in 1906, the city also boasts of various other reputed engineering and management colleges.

Reserve Bank of India has also two branches in Nagpur, one of which is holds the entire gold assets of the country. Alongside Nagpur has dominance in hoisting major Air Force and major Military establishments are also hosted here.
