Commonly known as district of Lakes, Bhandara is an administrative district located in the Maharashtra state of India.

This place is split between two rivers one is Wainganga and other is Sur Nadhi. It boasts itself as the second major city in Vidharba Region and is a major agricultural center for growing of Rice.
This city is also known as “Brass City” owing to the presence of large brass products industry.

This place is also famous for the Ordnance Factory Bhandara Estate which is popularly known as Jawaharnagar colony. Along with this “Hinduja Group” also marks its presence here by having a production facility of “Ashok Leyland” at Gadegaon. “Sunflag Iron Steel Company” is one more prominent undertaking in this area. “Praful Patel”, the current Aviation minister in UPA government and one of the prominent politicians ever known, also has his roots attached to this area (Korambi) around 8 kms from Bhandara.

From the perspective of tourism, this place is again a big contender boasting of places like Ambagad Fort, Brahmi, Chinchgad, and Dighodi. The Devi temple on the hill and the Vainganga River flowing on one side of it is another scenic location at Korambi.
