One of the most explored districts of MP, Morena, is identified through name, so is for accommodating large chunk of peacocks in the region and whole country. Being part of Chambal Division keeps it in crucial place known for forestry regions. Morena town serves as divisional cum district headquarters. 2011 census recorded its scattered population of 1,965,137. Morena has distinction of being fifth district in MP besides Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior having high population density.   

Primarily agrarian district, Morena has large farmlands. Morena gained popularity for being most suitable region to produce mustard. Large terrain of it was part of erstwhile Gwalior princely state of pre-independent India. Acceding of princely states in Indian government after independence had increased boundary line of Morena with inclusion of Pahargarh princely state. Its main tourist attractions are:
