Gurudwara Mangu Math Puri
Gurudwara Mangu Math at Puri, Odisha, is a Sikh religious shrine, where the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanakji visited in 1509AD and blessed his devotees. The Guruji enthused large number of people here with his hymns, which also conveyed a strong message of all are under the umbrella of one single God.
The Gurudwara is a beautiful pilgrimage center, to which large number of devotees do their prayers every day.
History
Puri is a place famous for Hindu temple of Jagannath, the form of Lord Krishna, which is in Odisha State close to Bay of Bengal.
When Sikh's first Guru Sri Guru Nanakji visited this place in 1509AD, when the aarti was going on the temple, he was watching the ritual silently amidst the crowd and then appeared before the people and presented some hymns which mesmerized everyone in the group. His hymns were of philosophical nature conveying important messages to the world such as there is only one God and also describing his presence in tPuhe beautiful forms of nature, describing that the bright sky, as a silver plate, taking Sun and the Moon as lamps, while all the illuminating Stars as Jewels, wind throwing the fragrance of flowers, with these people would worship Him. The hymns also highlighted the truth that there are millions of his eyes, millions of feet, millions of noses, however He has no eyes, no feet and no nose, keeping himself formless. He added that the mind of a devotee is pleased with the remembrance of Lord's lotus feet.
At the place where Guru Nanakji rendered his hymns and prayer, Gurudwara Mangu Math was established in Orissa at a later period.
Here the two Gurudwaras Baoli Sahib and Mangu Math Sahib were established in the middle of the 17th century by Bhai Almost, the well known Udasi preacher of those days, in memory of the visit of Guru Nanakji in the 16th Century.

By Air
One can reach by alighting at Biju Patnaik Domestic Airport which is the nearest Airport. By rail, Puri has a prominent Railway Station, besides Bhubaneswar Railway Station is nearby, from where one can travel to Puri either by train and bus. Bhubaneswar is a prominent and busy Railway junction of Eastern Railways.
Puri is well connected by road through major National and State Highways.
