Gurudwara Hemkunt Sahib
Gurdwara Hem Kunt Sahib is a famous Gurudwara in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. It is also known as Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib Ji. The Gurudwara is situated at the height of over 15000 feet in the Himalayan range. This is a holy and sanctified Gurudwara that is an epitome of Sikhism. Thousands of devotees visit this place and worship there.
History
It is believed that the Gurdwara Hem Kunt Sahib is a place where the king Pandu of Hastinapur performed secret yogic practices. In the Sikh followers there is another record. As per the Bachitra Natak, a memoir of the tenth Sikh Guru displays that Guru Govind Singh practiced meditation in his previous birth.

Gurdwara Hem Kunt Sahib is very famous for its architectural beauty and the way it was constructed. The architect of the Sikh temple is S. Manmohan Singh Siali and Major General Harkirat Singh. It is the rarest and one Gurudwara that was built at the highest altitude in the Himalaya. It was made in pentagonal way so that the climate and the atmosphere don't affect it. Also, the steel plates were put as the strong foundation of the divine shrine.

Traveling to Chamoli
Gurdwara Hem Kunt Sahib is a divine shrine of Sikh. It is somewhat difficult to reach to Chamoli. However, there isn't any hurdle whose devotion is pure and powerful to reach to the Gurudwara.
By Rail
Chamoli is only reachable by foot as it is set on the hills. Haridwar is the nearest railway station. This railway station is well connected with any of the states of India. From Haridwar, buses are available to reach to Govindghat via Rishikesh. Now, one can enjoy walking or a pony travel to Chamoli.
By Road
Road Transport is available to visit Gurdwara Hem Kunt Sahib. There are many buses from Delhi to Govindghat directly. And then either you select a choice of walking or hiring a pony till to Chamoli.
By Air
Delhi is the nearest airport. It is an international airport. It is connected to all over the world. From Delhi, one can reach to Haridwar by train and then from Haridwar one can choose a bus to Chamoli or if one wants a direct bus then there is a bus from Delhi to Govindghat.
