Jawahar Setu
This bridge of engineering marvel has been built over the Son River. It is located between the Dehri-on-Son and also Son Nagar in the Indian state of Bihar. The bridge has been named after the first prime minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.

The Jawahar Setu is a bridge which is approximately 3,061 meters or 10,043 ft road bridge which has been built across the Grand Trunk Road, NH 2.
Description
The company which built the bridge was Gammon India Ltd in 1963-65. This is a rail bridge which runs parallel to the road bridge. It was built in 1900. The bridge has 93 spans of 30.5 m each. Each of the spans is about a hundred feet apart. The bridge was opened for traffic on 27 February 1900. When it was built, the bridge was touted to be one of the longest bridges in India and was believed to be the second longest bridge in the world. After that many other bridges of longer lengths were built but this bridge still managed to remain one of the longest rail bridges for many years. When the Vembanad Rail Bridge of 4.62 kms was commissioned, it was able to connect the terminal of the Container Transshipment on the Vallarpadam Island to Edappally. It was in February 2011 that this bridge got for itself the second position. The bridge connects Jogighopa to Pancharatna. The total length of this bridge is about 2.3km. It consists of 18 spans, each of which is approximately 120m, with 2 spans of 30.5m. The bridge over the Ganga River near Patna is about 2km long.
