Sweet Potato Halwa (Ratala che Kaap)

Time to Prepare Minutes - 10 Time for cooking Minutes - 25 Serves People - 4 Ingredients For Sweet Potato Halwa
- Sweet potato peeled and mashed - 2 cups
- Unsalted butter or ghee clarified butter - 5 tablespoons
- Milk - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Freshly ground cardamom (ilachi) - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon powder (dal chini) - 1/4 teaspoon
- Nutmeg (jaifel) - 1/8 teaspoon
- Cashews broken in small pieces for garnishing (kaju) - 8
How to make Sweet Potato Halwa
- In a microwave, add sweet potato, Boil it and knead well. Now roll it with damp cloth and allow cooking for 5-10 minutes.
- In a pan, Heat the butter on average flame. Add potatoes to it and keep stirring continuously. Simmer it for 10-12 minutes.
- Now add milk to it and blend it nicely. When the milk boiled. Add sugar and cook again about 2 minutes till the preferred consistency is reached. Make sure Halwa should be very damp.
- Switch off the flame and add cinnamom, nutmeg and cardamom. Knead it properly.
- Now Sweet Potato Halwa is ready for enjoy eating and served. Sprinkle with cashews.

- You can use sugar as per your taste and flavor.
- You can check the sweetness of potato, and then add sugar as per your taste.
- You can add ½ tsp cardamom powder in 5-step, if required, although the taste of halwa good without it.
