Mahim Halwa
Brief Description
Mahim Halwa is one of the more popular sweet treat that is made all over india. Mahim Halwa is originally from Bombay. The term literally means “Ice Halwa” in Gujarati. Mahim Halwa is delightful and mouthwatering dish. Bombay Mahim Halwa is a famous Indian sweet. It’s delicious and mouthwatering sweet. It is like thin delicate slab of dish garnished with saffron and nuts. Generally Mahim Halwa has two colors yellow and white.
Time to Prepare Minutes – 5-10 Time for cooking Minutes – 25-30 Serves People - 4 Ingredients For Mahim Halwa
- 1/4 cup - Fine Semolina
- 2 cups - Milk
- 1 cup - Sugar
- 1/4 cup ,plus 2 tbsp - Ghee
- 1 tsp - Rose essence
- 15 - Chopped pistachios
- 12 - Sliced almonds
- 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
How to make Mahim Halwa
- Squeeze the cardamom powder and cut the almonds and piece the pistachios. Set aside.
- Grease the one side of the silver foil and keep it ready for later use.
- In a pan, add ghee, sugar, milk and rava. Put it on average heat and knead it regularly.
- Add some drops of rose essence and ghee after decreasing the heat. Keep stirring continuously till the desired consistency is reached.
- Now add again 2 tbsp ghee in it and blend well till it becomes smoothy.
- Once it is done, switch off the burner and move it onto greased silver paper.
- Now move it another silver paper and make thin roll as soon as possible. Erase the the paper from the top. Garnish with all dry fruits as per your taste.
- Similarly does it again reroll it very nicely and add dry fruits. Knead properly. Set aside to cool completely.
- Now cut it into big squares shape. Set aside for dry in the air about 1-2 days.
- Once it is complete, and then hit it onto the other sides. Once the dries completed. Place it into air tight container.
