Magas
Brief Description
Magas is one of the most famous dessert or mithai that is made all over india. It is very similar to a regular Burfi. Magas especially made during festivals. The term literally means ‘Besan ki Barfi’ (aka magas) that can be easily made by anyone and perfect one at home and enjoy the festive occasion. Magas is easy to make by following this recipe.
Time to Prepare Minutes -5-10 Time for cooking Minutes – 15-20 Serves People - 4 Ingredients For Magas
- 1 cup (approx 100 gm) - Besan/Chickpea flour
- 1 tbsp - Warm Milk
- 1 tsp - Warm Ghee
- 1/2 cup (100 gm) - Ghee/ Clarified Butter
- 1/2 cup (110 gm) - Sugar
- 1/4 tsp - Powdered Cardamom
- for garnishing - Sliced Almonds
- for garnishing - Charoli
How to Make Magas
- Combine the hot ghee and milk - now microwave it for few seconds.
- Add the Besan in the mixture and set aside for few minutes.
- Drop the mixture via average holed sift to allow it texture.
- Heat ghee in a pan and add the Besan to it for fry at average heat till they change color slightly golden. Knead it properly.
- Turn off the flame, mix sugar and cardamom powder and blend well. Set aside in a plate and allow cooling nicely.
- Sprinkle with almonds sliced and Charoli. Set aside for cooling before cutting into squares and serve it for 1 hour.
- Cut it into the squares and serve chilled.
