Basundi
Brief Description
Basundi is one of the most famous Gujarati sweet treat of thickened milk. It is traditional Indian milk based dessert and it is more similar to North Indian Rabdi. Everyone loved its creamy & rich taste and something word can not describe it. Bsundi is easy and quick to make with using this recipe.
Time to Prepare Minutes -10-15 Time for cooking Minutes -20-30 Serves Pieces -4 Ingredients For Basundi
- 1 litre (1000 ml) - Full cream milk
- ½ cup (adjust as per your taste) - Sugar
- 1 table spoon - Charoli seeds
- 4 or 5 no (powdered) - Cardamom
- few - Pistachio
- few strings - Saffron
How to make Basundi:
- Take a broad bottomed Pan; Boil the milk on average heat and stirring it continuously until it gets reduced to ½ (half).
- Now add sugar and cook for few more time until the preferred consistency is reached.
- Add cardamom powder and dissolved saffron in the milk. Knead it well.
- Now switch off the burner and keep aside for cooling, after that garnish it with pistachio and charoli seeds.
- Now Basundi is ready to enjoy eating. Serve chilled.

- Milk boiling time may be increased or decreased depending on the consistency you need.
- Always use fresh full cream milk for better taste.
- Always use broad bottomed non-stick pan for better results.
