Bijnor, a district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, is located in northern part of India,. Bijnor city is the district headquarters. The district, also known as Bijnaur, is situated on the northwestern corner of Moradabad Division.

The place is bounded by the river Ganges on the western side dividing the district from four other districts namely Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Dehradun. On the north as well on the northeastern portion, the submontane road of the mountainous country of Garhwal, is stretched. The road, all throughout its way towards Garhwal, is popularly called as Kandhi Saradk. Towards the eastern side is the river Phika which separates the district from Moradabad and Nainital.

The total area covered by the district is 4,049 kilometer square. The common language spoken by the people residing there is western Hindi which is sometimes even termed as Rohilkhandi.
