Uttaranchal Purnagiri Temple
Purnagiri temple is dedicated to Maa Purnagiri and located at Tanakpur town of Champawat district of Uttarakhand state of India. This place has a well link with the nearby district Bareilly. Other parts of the Kumaon region are also well connected with this temple. One has to move to Tulligad village for further moving to Purnagiri temple on foot. Till Tulligad a road existing and further path is under construction. This temple is located on Punya Parvat and also known as Purna Giri. Near the temple a famous place named “Hanuman Chatti” is also located. The temple location from Tunyas is about 3 kilometers and entire route is to be covered on foot. This route is also called “Bans Ki Chadai” and is being facilitated by providing stair cases and iron bars on side to provide ease to the devotees.
Architecture
Temple is designed and constructed in simple manner. One room Garbhagriha which has also the Sabha sthal is constructed. Tower of this temple is not too large and has a conical shape without any dome over it. There is an idol of Maas Purna Devi is kept and covered with red clothes. On the top of the temple a small conical shape is also erected so that the building looks like a temple. This place being one of 108 Siddh Peeth is very important irrespective of its architectural looks. Various shops and hotels are just below the temple are clubbed in a small market to provide meal and rest to the devotee. Various Dharamshalas are also there.
Best Time to Visit
Summers are the best season to visit this area as the rainy season will lead to cause any unforeseen incident because of land sliding hazard. April to June is the best time to visit this temple. Surrounding area is also full of adventures trekking options and with the picturesque scenes.
Festivals
Festivals like Chaitra Navratra, Deepavali and Mahashivaratri this temple attracts a lot of devotees as the Purna Giri Maa is the part of Holi Sati and consort of the Lord Shiva. At these occasions, free medicine distribution and tele connectivity is provided to the devotees.

Pantnagar is the nearest airport located at 121 kilometers. Road connectivity is available via Khatima and Nanak Mattha.
By Rail
Tanakpur is the nearest railway station and located at 20 kilometers from this temple.
By Road
Road is available upto Tulligad. For devotees, remaining way is required to be covered on foot. A trekking way of 3 kilometers long is upto the Purnagiri temple is there.
