Uttaranchal Hat Kalika Temple
The Haat Kalika Mandir is a well known place as this place was selected by Adi Guru Sankaracharya to install Mahakali Shaktipeeth. People have a belief that Goddes Kalika Mata had to be located in West Bangal but it got shifted to Gangolihat from Bengal. The temple remains popular throughout the country and basically among the Armed Forces of India. People from far distant places come here for getting the blessings of Mata.
History
The Haat Kalika Mandir is of great historical significance as there are a number of historical monuments belonging to the 8th to 11th century which lie in the vicinity of this temple.
Architecture
The site of this temple is preserved by ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). There can be witnessed the artistic creation in these monuments of ancient times.
The Haat Kalika Mandir is in dedication of Lord Shiva. During the festival of Navaratri, there is a fair organized here where sacrifices and pujas are offered.

The closest railhead is at Tanakpur in the district of Champawat which is connected to Gangolihat as well as Lohaghat.

There is Tanakpur-Gangolihat route as well as Haldwani-Gangolihat route which can be covered through buses, taxis and geeps etc. every day.
