Uttaranchal Barahi (varahi) Devi Temple
Varahi Devi is the presiding deity of this temple. Location of the temple is a junction of three districts of Uttarakhand state i.e. Almora, Nainital and Pithoragarh. The place where Varahi Devi temple is located is called Devidhura. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan a special Devidhura Mela is organised in this temple. This fair is famous for folk singing, folk dancing and a special festival named Bagwal. On the occasion of this fair, a night long worship of Goddess Varahi is done. The worshipping of Goddess Varahi is done in some different manner. The image of the Devi is kept in a casket made of brass. A priest whose eyes are covered with dark cloth made responsible to sense the trace the image and keep the same again in casket. This process continues till the night ends and on morning Bagwal fair starts. In this fair, two groups of devotees of Varahi Devi throw stone on each other. They also save them by using big shield. On the appearance of priest of the temple, this game ends and both parties meet.
Architecture
This is simply designed temple based on an elevated platform of more than 7ft in height. 6 steps of 10” height have been constructed and then a big plat for with a base of 1 ft height for construction of the temple. There is an entry gate having two parts is also constructed. But maximum devotees use the semicircular shaped stair case which is opened and wide enough. Temple has a simple conical tower over Garbhagriha. In front of Garbhagriha, there is verandah having three arches in pure north Indian style of Mandir construction. Just adjacent to the temple there is a double storied building is also erected to provide stay to some devotees. Surroundings of the temple are covered with dense forestry and lush greenery. Just at the first stem of the temple, there is a semicircular Sudarshana chakra is placed on land. Platform of the temple is having boundary pillars on sides.

By Air
Pantnagar is the nearest airport located at 206 kilometers from this temple and well connected with road transports.
By Rail
Kathgodam is the nearest railway station located at 180 kilometers. Road transportation means are available at regular interval. State transport buses as well as private taxies are plying between the railway station and this temple.
By Road
Road connectivity of the area is sufficient as the Devidhura is well linked through road with other nearby cities.
