Uttar Pradesh Kedareshwar Temple
The Kedareshwar temple is situated in the southernmost part of Varanasi quite close to the Kedarghat. It is one of the most revered parts of Kashi. The river temple sits beautifully at the top of the ghat and is seated quite close to the water. The stripes of the temple show in the water as vertical lines of yellow color. It is believed that this temple was built in the end of the 11th century.
History
Kedar implies a place where the crème of the crème of liberty becomes bigger with time. The Kedareshwar temple is the temple from where people gain freedom from all their wrong doings. This temple is as important to Hindus as is the Kedareshwar in the Himalayas. As per the MahtmakasiKedara, Lord Kedareshwar presented 15 kalas in Kasi and the 16th one in Varanasi. This art appeared and was obtained from food which had been produced by a King.
The Kedareshwar temple was built with a donation of a great Raja Pramadi who is also called as the brother of Ganga.

Significance Of The Temple
The temple is dedicated to the Shiva. It is believed that Parvati and Shiva left their bodily form. Performing a prayer service at the Kedareshwar is believed to be sacred.
