Uttar Pradesh Baradevi Temple

History
Since this is very old temple in Kanpur, not much is known about it. The architectural style of this temple belongs to Awadh rulers. It is often said that this temple is two hundred years old and a goddess after getting annoyed by his father established herself along with her ten sisters in this temple. After 200 years when her father came to this temple searching for her, he also established himself as a statute and this temple got its name "Bara devi". People of this city believe that they are well protected by the goddess Durga and seek her blessing they have to avoid sinful acts as well. Since Kanpur is located on the bank of the river Ganga thus from years many religious activities are being performed on its bank. River Ganga has special importance and significance in Hindu methodology.
