Tamilnadu Perumangalam Temple

Perumangalam or also called Thiruperumangalam is a small village located only 4 km distance from Vaideeswaran Kovil. However, the town was set up by renowned Chola kings during the 10th of century. It is said that around 63 Nayanars, nyanmar, Kalikama used to live at this town as well as served the natives. The sacred temple is devoted to seven Matrika or Goddesses such as Bramhi, Kowmari, Maheswari, Varahi, Vaishnavi, Indhirani and Samundi.

History

However, there is no proper evidence available regarding the history and origin of this sacred temple yet it is believed that it was constructed thousands years ago by an unknown dynasty. However, the temple was badly damaged about 400 years ago. Later the sacred temple was greatly renovated and sacred Maha Kumbabishega ritual was done on 4th of September in the year of 2008 by renowned Selyam family of Mayiladuthurai. The temple is not only famous for its religious significances but also for its amazing Indian style of architecture. The temple houses 7 Goddess inside it.

Weather And Time To Visit

In winters, the city becomes cold while in summers, it becomes hot and humid. Hence, the best time to get there is from the month of October to March. However, devotees can also visit during the festival of Navaratri.

Perumangalam town is well linked with other cities or towns in the state by Indian railway networks and Tamara Kulam railway station is the nearest rail head.
