History
It is believed that it was constructed by an unknown local dynasty during the 13th of century but there isn't any proof. This sacred temple is also famous for its different kind of puja or rituals. The interesting point about the temple is that it has been constructed in east-facing. However, according to a local folklore, once there was a ruler who dreamt about Lord Govindaraja Perumal. Hence, he became a follower of Lord Govindaraja Perumal and declared the lord as the God of City.
