Tamilnadu Champakeswarar Temple
Tamilnadu state is famous for its unique culture, tradition and various Hindu temples. The prominent Champakeswarar temple is among one of them. This sacred Hindu worship place is devoted to its main deity Lord Champakeswarar who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Sri Vishnu. The renowned Champakeswarar temple at Parameswarimangalam near Madurantakam is not only a sacred place but also a historical place.
History
It is believed it was constructed during the 13th of century by an unknown dynasty; however there is no proper evidence available regarding the construction of origin of the temple. The present temple was renovated many times by various local rulers. The architecture of the temple resembles the typical south Indian style architecture. The sculpture on the walls of the temple depicts the story of mythological era. The main attraction of the temple is the idol of Champakeswarar which is made of black color stone.
Weather and time to visit
During the summer, the temperature rises to 44 degree Celsius while in winter it can drop down to 8 degree Celsius. However, monsoon usually occurs during the month of July. Hence, the best time to get there is from the month of March to October.
