Tamilnadu Chakravaheswarar Temple
Tiruchakrapalli city is basically famous for its various ancient Hindu temples. The renowned Chakravaheswarar temple is among one of them. This Hindu worship place is frequented by thousands of devotees every year. Thus it is considered among the most visited Hindu Shiva temples. According to local inhabitants, the idol in the temple is believed to be swayambhoo or self originated.
History
The sacred Chakravaheswarar temple was constructed during the 12th of century by a local Hindu king. However, according to a popular legend, the temple was constructed by a saint who performed his penance at this place. According to another legend, once a villager visited the nearby forest wherein he found an idol of lord Chakravaheswarar. Hence, on the night, he saw a dream in which Lord Chakravaheswarar ordered him to install the idol in nearby temple.

Actually, Tiruchakrapalli city has tropical climate condition. Thus during summer the city becomes hot and humid and temperature rises to maximum 44 degree Celsius while in winter it becomes cold and temperature may drop down to minimum 8 degree Celsius. So, if you want to visit at Chakravaheswarar temple then you need to visit from the month of March to October.
