Chennai is not only famous for its unique culture and tradition but also for its various ancient Hindu temples. The renowned Balavinayagar temple at Ambattur is among one of them. This sacred temple is a worship place of Lord Balavinayagar who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Sri Vishnu.
History
However, there is no proper evidence available regarding the history and construction date of the temple yet it is said that it was constructed during the 13th of century by an unknown local dynasty. The sacred Hindu worship is frequented by thousands of devotees every year. Thus, it is considered among the most visited Vishnu temples in the district. The major attraction of the temple is its various special rituals that cannot be seen elsewhere in the country. The temple is also famous for celebrating various religious festivals.
Weather and time to visit
Due to tropical climatic conditions, during summer, Ambattur town becomes hot and humid while in summer it becomes cold. Monsoon normally starts in the month of July and ends in the month of August-September. So, the best time to get there is from the month of March to October.
