Rajasthan Neemach Mata Temple
The temple of Neemach Mata located in the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan is situated top of the hill on the bank of Fateh Sagar Lake. The hill on which the temple is situated is known as Dewali in the city of Udaipur. A path that is 900 meters long goes up and down the hill to reach the temple. The idol of Neemach Mata Devi is located in the vicinity of the temple. The temple also houses the Lord Ganesha idol and the lions that have three faces directing in the west direction and carved out of stone. On reaching the top to visit the temple the devotees can also have a view of city of Udaipur and the view of the lake is very beautiful. The vehicles are not permitted on the path that goes to the temple and hence the environment is clean and pollution free.
Dokot Khandan belonging to Bhatnagar worships the Neemach mata as their kuldevi and worship the goddess on the day of Haryaliamavasya to offer their prayers to the goddess every year.
The temple is believed to have been constructed in the year 1652 to 1680. The idol of the goddess in the temple is 52 inches high and 23 inches wide. The yojna is performed in the inner temple where the Hawan Kund is located.
The Hindu festivals like Deepawali, Dussehra and Navratri are the major festivals that are celebrated in the complex of the temple.
