Rajasthan Bohra Ganesh Temple
The Bohra Ganesh temple is located very close to the old railway station in Thokar and also near to Mohanlal Sukhadia University. The temple has been dedicated to Lord Ganesha and an idol of standing Ganesha is located in the vicinity of the temple. The temple is worshipped by the devotees especially on the Wednesdays.
The belief about worshipping Lord Ganesha is that any new work is always started by worshipping him. The ceremonies of marriage, setting up of a new business or making any new purchases like vehicle, house etc. is initiated by worshipping Lord Ganesha.
The most sanctified ceremony celebrated in honor of Lord Ganesha is the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. This occasion is celebrated in months of August or September. The occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by the Hindu community.
The elder son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is Lord Ganesha. Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha are considered as the celestial couple of the universe. Lord Ganesha is considered as the leader of the Lord Shiva’s followers and hence is named as Ganesha. The name Ganapathi is derived from three words. The first word is Ga that means “Knowledge”, Na is meant as “salvation” while Pati is referred as “Lord”. The Lord Ganesha is also worshipped by its devotees for the removal of any hindrances that come in the path of their growth and welfare and hence is also referred to as Vigneshwara. Lord Ganesha is offered Ladoos by its devotees.
