Punjab Baba Sodal Mandir
There are many fairs and festivals that are celebrated in India. Many of these festivals can be linked to the sacred beliefs and various rituals. The temple of Baba Sodal celebrates one such sacred occasion on the day of Anant Chodas. The temple of Baba Sodal is located in city of Jalandhar in state of Punjab, India. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees to worship the eternal fable named as Baba Sodal. The festive observes devotees from all over the country and is worshipped by the devotees from different castes and creed.

History
The history of the temple is linked to the story of a mother and son. The mother accompanied along with the son went to the pond for fetching water where he played pranks with her mother by throwing clay toys, the irritated mother cursed the son and upon hearing the curse the boy jumped in the pond to never return back. Even after the extensive search boy could not be found but rather a sacred serpent appeared and declared that boy has left this corporeal world. Since then the serpent is worshipped sacredly and is offered Mathi also known as Topa. The weight of the topa should be equivalent to the weight of male bachelors in a family.
