Odisha Jagannath Temple
Jagannath temple at Puri city is a renowned Hindu worship place. The temple is basically famous for its sacred Jagannath Yatra. The presiding deity of the temple is lord Jagannath who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Sri Vishnu. It is a significant pilgrimage centre for Hindu community. It is a sacred worship place especially for Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna's followers. It is also come in Char Dham or four sacred worship places that every Hindu must visit at least once in his life.
History
As per the recently discovered sacred copper plates from renowned Ganga dynasty, the present Jagannath temple was constructed by king of Kalinga dynasty called Anantavarman Chodaganga deva. However, Vimana and Jaga Mohan sections of the temple were constructed during 1078 to 1148 CE. Later Oriya dynasty king called Ananga Bhima deva re-constructed this temple to provide a new shape to it in 1174. Moreover, Lord Jagannath worship in this worship place continued until the year of 1558. Later it was many times renovated by various Hindu kings including Chola dynasty kings, Trincore dynasty etc.
Weather and time to visit
Puri city can be visited throughout the year however; the best time to get there is from the month of March to October. Moreover, due to its tropical climate condition, the city becomes hot and humid during summer while in winter, it becomes cold. Followers of Lord Jagannath can also visit during famous Jagannath Yatra to participate in sacred ritual.

City Puri is well connected with other major cities or towns in the state by roads. Hence, from airport or railway station, visitors or devotees can hire bus, car and taxi to reach at Jagannath temple.
