Odisha Harishankar Temple
The renowned Harishankar temple is located near a local stream and surrounded by lush green vegetation. The temple is not only famous for its religious significances but also for its natural scenic surroundings. The presiding deities of the temple are Lord Shiva and Lord Sri Vishnu. Moreover, near Harishankar temple, a famous temple called Nrusinghamath also situated.
History
Harishankar temple was constructed by the Chauhan rulers during 12th century AD. Inside the temple, a dancing idol of Lord Ganesha is also established. This sacred Hindu worship place was built by the royal order of Durlabha Devi, a queen of King Vaijjal Deva Chauhan. The temple is frequented by thousands of devotees every year. Thus, it is considered among the most visited Hindu worship places in the district of Bolangir. According to local legend, once a saint called Uttamocharya worshiped Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu at this place and performed his penance. It is said that he was granted Moksha or ultimate salvation by holy gods.

Hence, the maximum temperature has been recorded 45 degree Celsius n summers while the minimum recorded temperature in 8 degree Celsius in winters. So, the best time to visit at Harishankar temple is from the month of March to October.
