Odisha Dishisvara Siva Temple
The Dishisvara Siva Temple is located in Bhubaneswar in Orissa. It is a well-renowned temple that worships Siva Lingam within a sanctum. However, the temple is in a dilapidated state currently and vegetation has grown all over the surrounding area. In fact, cracks are also noticed in the roofs due to lack of adequate maintenance. However, the temple was recently repaired by the State Archaeology. The temple was built in laterite, but it failed to stand the test of time. Irrespective of that, there are still many devotees that visit this temple apart from the local people.
History
The temple dates back to almost 15th centuries and was privately owned. It was situated in a compound which was surrounded by other residential buildings. The temple also reflects the skill and the artworks of the artisans, which gives an indication of the Kalingan architectural style.
Best Time to Reach
The temple can be visited anytime from Bhubaneswar. It is located closely to the main city of Bhubaneswar and can be easily reached by private vehicles or buses. The nearest railway station or airport is in Bhubaneswar. Apart from that, it can also be reached through Cuttack by road.
