Odisha Biranchinarayan Temple
The Biranchinarayan Sun temple is commonly known as the abode of Viranchinarayana. It is a Hindu temple situated in Buguda town in Ganjam. It is only the second sun temple that was built after the Konark Sun Temple. This divine place forms an important aspect of Orissa's culture.
Facts
King Srikara Bhajandeva had built the temple in the eighteenth century. Biranchi Narayan is the main deity worshipped here, a depiction who was retrieved from the ruins of Maltigad. The depiction also features Arjuna as the driver of a chariot pulled along by seven horses, with only one wheel on the left. The temple roof comprises of a total of 46 pillars with wooden designs carved all over them. The temple faces towards the west and as a result sun rays of the setting sun fall on the feet of the temple. Following the demands of the king, the main icon of the God is made out of wood.
Best Time To Visit
Important festivals include Ratha Saptami during Maagha and Samba Dashami during Pausha. It is preferable to attend these ceremonies. However it is also good to be a part of the Sankranti celebrations every Sunday.

By Air
One can fly to the Bhubaneswar airport and take a train or conveyance like cab or other local vehicles to reach the temple.
By Train
Nearest railway Station is Berhampur- which is 70 kms. You can get a good motorable road from Berhampur. It is nearly 92 kms from Ganjam and 180 kms from Bhubaneswar.
By Road
The place can be accessed easily from the town of Buguda with local travel vehicles.
