Odisha Arjuneswara Shiva Temple
Arjuneswara Siva temple has been associated with Lord Shiva and is located in the city of Bhubaneswar in Orissa, India. To the south of this temple around 70 meters ahead is the Bindusagar tank. The temple stands facing the west direction. There is road named ratha road that connects Lingaraja temple and Rameswara temple in the right direction of the temple.
The temple stands uninhibited and in the condition of descending.
History
The history of the temple goes back to 12th and 13th century AD. The architectural design of the temple is very similar to that of saptaratha.
To the south-east direction of the temple stands the Sari deul that has been a monument that faces the west direction and has been under the protection of ASI. To the back of Arjuneswara Siva temple is the Bhabani Sankara temple.
Architecture
The method used to construct the temple was the dry masonry. The architectural style is that of Kalingan that can be seen by the use of grey colored sandstone. The core temple in the complex is named Rekha Deul. The entrance of the temple that is in an area of 0.80 meters has been refurbished. The shape of the temple is that of a square that spread in an area of 3.50 square meters. The saptaratha shape displays offset projections total in seven numbers that can be seen on all the walls and have characterized by the raja that is in the central part and on each side are the pair of anuraha, anuratha and kanika pagas.
