History
According to popular legend, the temple was constructed by divine power. There is a folklore regarding the origin of the temple. Once there was a prince lived in the state that treated his parents badly. Thus his parents , the old king and queen decided to visit Kashi as Kashi city was considered as a sacred city and dying in the city means a person will be sent directly to heaven. However, prince heard the scheme and decided to teach his parents and thus accompanied with his parents. During the journey, one night prince experiences a mystical vision. He saw various beautiful women dancing. He asked the women about them and they replied they were goddess and can remove all the sins of anyone. They also added that prince was a bad person as he treated his parents very negatively. Thus prince was psychologically transformed and started obeying his parents. Once, Lord Krishna visited his home and knocked the door , at the time price was busy in serving food to his parents. God Krishna was very impressed to see his love towards his parents and granted him a boob. Prince requested God to stay in the city to help other devotes.
