Maharashtra Renuka Devi Temple
Mahurgad or also called Mahur is a renowned religious site in the state of Maharashtra and famous for its various ancient temples. The prominent Renuka Devi temple is among one of them. This sacred Devi Shakti Peeth is devoted to its main deity Goddess Renuka who was the mother of sage Parshuram. The sacred Devi Mandir or temple is said to have miraculous power to heal suffering people. The temple is not only famous as a sacred Shakti peeth but it also known as a most visited religious shrine in the state.
History
However , there is no proper evidence available regarding the history and origin of the temple but it is believed that it was constructed thousands of years ago by devas or angels. Remember, the Shakti peeth of Mahur has been also mentioned in ancient sacred Devi Bhagawatam as holy Matiripura. Moreover, in the sacred book Devi Gita , the place is considered as the one of most significance Shakti worship place. According to Hindu mythology , when Lord Shiva was carrying the corps of Sati then wherever the parts of the corps fell down, the place became a Shakti peeth. Mahur is also among one of those Shakti Peethas. Moreover, Navaratri is the most celebrated festival of the location. During the festival visitors or devotees from all over the states gather here to have sacred Darshan and blessings of Devi Renuka.
Weather and time to visit
Maharashtra state has a tropical climate condition. It means during the summer , the temperature rises up to 40 degree Celsius while in winter it drops down to 7 degree Celsius. Hence, the best time to get there is from the month of March of October.
