Maharashtra Ramtek Temples
The sacred temple of Ramtek is considered very holy as they belong to Lord Rama. According to Hindu mythology, lord Rama once stayed at this place during his exile. Moreover, Hindu sage called Agastya lived at this place. Hence, Ramtek temple is considered among the most sacred places that belong to lord Rama. The meaning of Tek is vow thus the Ramtek means vow of lord Rama. There is a story about it, when lord Rama decided to kill demons that destroyed and killed many sages, he vowed to kill them. Moreover, during the festival of Ramanavami, devotees from all over the state gather here to have sacred Darshan and blessings of Lord Rama.
History
However, it is believed the Ramtek temple was constructed thousands years ago but the current temple was established by Raghuji Bhaonsale, a Nagpur city king. The location wherein the temple is located is also renowned for its association with famous Hindu poet called Kalidasa. The temple was designed in typical medieval Indian style of architecture. The presiding deity Lord Rama is considered very sacred and ancient. However, according to local people, Lord Rama himself visits the town during the festival of Dussehara. The temple was renovated many times by various Indian kings who were great followers of Lord Rama.
Weather and time to visit
If you have planned to visit at Ramtek temple then you need to visit from the month of March to October. Remember, Nagpur is famous for its tropical climate condition hence it becomes cold and chilly during winter and during summer it becomes hot and humid.

By Air
Sonegoan airport is the nearest domestic airport that connects the town to other cities in the state.
By Rail
Some of the nearest railway station are Ramtek railway station only 1 km, Amdi Halt railway station 11 km and Chacher railway station 18 km distance from the temple.
By Road
Visitors or pilgrims can also hire road-based transportation such as buses, cars and taxis to reach at Ramtek temple.
