Kerala Thrikkovil Sree Padmanabha Swami Kshetram
The renowned Thrikkovil Sree Padmanabha Swami Kshetram temple is devoted to Lord Shri Vishnu. This sacred Hindu worship place is the second important Vishnu temple of its kind just after renowned Padmanabhaswamy temple of city Thiruvananthapuram. The major attraction of this Vishnu temple is a ten-day festival called Dashvatara Chaarth. During the festival, devotees can worship the different ten “Avtara” or incarnations of Lord Sri Vishnu.
History
The sacred Thrikkovil Sree Padmanabha Swami Kshetram temple was constructed by the followers of Lord Sri Vishnu during the 13th of century. However, according to some historians, the temple was constructed by a local dynasty that ruled the state during 11th to 14th century. But there is no proper evidence available regarding the history and origin of this sacred Hindu worship place. According to a popular folklore, the temple resembles the original Padmanabha temple of Thiruvananthapuram city. It is a known fact that Padmanabha temple of Thiruvananthapuram is famous for its incredible treasure.
Architecture
Thrikkovil Sree Padmanabha Swami Kshetram temple is a great example of Dravidian and Indian architecture. The Shikharas of the temple are adored with special kind of material that spread brightness during the night. The basement in the temple is said to have great treasure as well. However, the main deity of the temple Lord Vishnu is situated here at the form of Padmanabha. The main hall of the temple is divided into two important section – one is lower section and second one if upper section. In lower section, visitors or devotees can see the important religious sculptures of Lord Vishnu and his ten incarnations. While in upper section is basically devoted to all other important Gods and Goddess of Hindu religion such as Durga, Maa Kali, Lord Natrajana and Lord Shiva.

By Air
The nearest airport is located in Thiruvandrum city that connects the town to all other parts of the country. Hence, from airport, visitors or devotees can easily hire bus, taxi and private cab to reach at the temple.
By Rail
Some of the nearby railway stations to the temple are Chengannur railway station, Cherivanad railway station Mavelikara railway station and Auvaneswsarem railway station.
By Road
Vallicode village is well connected to other neighboring parts of the state by roads. Here, visitors can also hire KSRTC buses that run regularly.

The best time to visit at Thrikkovil Sree Padmanabha Swami Kshetram is during the festival of Dashvatara Chaarth. While visiting the festival, visitors or devotees can experience the divine aura of Lord Vishnu’s ten incarnations. However, the temple can be visited throughout the year.
